A common situation in sport is the athlete warms up and stretches prior to the intended event, only to have to sit and wait to compete. This occurs in team sports when “subs” must sit and wait their turn on the sideline either to be subbed on, or take the place of an injured player. It also occurs in individual sports when you must wait your turn to compete without having an exact idea of how long the athletes who are competing before you are going to take.

Both instances can be extremely frustrating, as well as being downright dangerous. Under these circumstances athletes must endeavour to continuously stay prepared to “take the field” or suffer the risk of injury. Hamstring muscles in the back of the thigh, and calf muscles, are usually most at risk. As coaches well know, many athletes burn up tremendous amounts of nervous energy continually warming up then cooling back down again which, no doubt, cannot be good for their performance to say the least.

Using Stretch A Flex to “Stay-Ready”

With Stretch A Flex, athletes can now do a pre-warm up then stay seated, nice and warm in their tracksuit, if need be, and perform “Stay-Ready” stretches while relaxing or watching others in action.

Because Stretch A Flex only works when you want it to, you can sit with Stretch A Flex in the relaxed ready position and “top up” your stretches as you feel the need. This way you can stay relaxed, in control, and “take the field” ready, stretched, and composed.
